Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya offers many reasons to visit and even more reasons to come back.
As a seasoned traveller, I have had the privilege of visiting many outstanding resorts. However, the laidback elegance of Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya, with its colonial-style architecture reminiscent of a traditional Mexican hacienda, made an indelible mark. The fact that it’s an adults-only resort completes the package for a luxurious romantic getaway. Also, not having to wear a traditional resort bracelet added to the ease of my stay and the feeling of upscale freedom.
Upon entering the grand lobby, a warm smile and a refreshing drink welcomed me. This, combined with the striking architecture and lush tropical surroundings immediately set the tone for my relaxing escape.
Here are just a few of the reasons I will be making a return visit.
Ideal Location
The property is conveniently located between Playa Del Carmen and Puerto Morelos. It is also only 25 minutes from Cancun airport. This proximity made it so easy to get to the resort and start relaxing. And the minute I caught sight of the beach Playa del Secreto, I knew it wouldn’t take long to slip straight into vacation mode. It is a beautiful, secluded one-kilometre stretch of pristine white sand. It’s also worth noting the resort puts you in proximity to some of the region’s world-renowned Mayan archaeological sites.
Spacious Rooms
Take your pick of spacious and stylish Junior Suites. each with a private balcony or terrace. You can also choose from elegant 1-bedroom Suites, or the new Bridal Suite. I recommend upgrading to the Valentin Privé. This gets you upgraded room amenities, concierge services, private check-in and checkout, access to the exclusive Valentin Privé Lounge, lobster at dinner, a Bali bed, and other perks that add to the overall experience.
Diverse Dining Options
With nine restaurants it’s easy to satisfy your cravings for almost anything. I indulged in sumptuous pasta at L’Olivo and relished the authentic flavours of Mexican haute cuisine at La Hacienda.
Ginger, the Japanese restaurant was also a highlight. They served excellent sushi and the teppanyaki experience was so much fun.
For snacks, don’t miss the two food trucks and the coffee shop. 24-hour room service is a bonus for those lazy mornings or late-night munchies.
I also loved that no reservations are required (except for the aforementioned teppanyaki experience) which means there’s no hassle when it comes to deciding on dinner.
Non-stop Fun
During the day the resort offers a plethora of activities for those looking to be active including watersports at the beach. Alternatively, there are three gorgeous pools for those looking to take refuge in a good book.
At night, the resort comes alive with themed shows and live music. I especially loved the Plaza Espana and dancing under the stars.
Top-shelf alcohol is on offer at all of the property bars and I recommend trying the Cotton Candy Mojito-just one of many unique twists on an extensive menu of curated cocktails.
A Peaceful Sanctuary
If you need some serious relaxation, the lush grounds are a peaceful place to start. But, if you can, I suggest taking that a step further and saying goodbye to your everyday worries at the Aromance Spa. Indulge in soothing and natural treatments designed to enrich and detoxify your body and mind. All skincare products used in your spa experience are made from fresh herbal and floral ingredients. If you really want to find your bliss, try the Wonder Sensation package which includes foot pampering, a Swedish massage, and an indulgent chocolate wrap.
Warm Hospitality
The resort is ideally suited for special celebrations among friends and family, romantic honeymoons, weddings, and leisure groups. But, the allure of Valentin extends well beyond the resort’s amenities and eye-catching aesthetics. It’s the exceptional staff that truly sets this place apart. Their warm, attentive, and professional service was a constant throughout the resort, from the front desk to the gardening staff.
