The serenity of being immersed in nature doesn’t often come with all-inclusive hospitality. But at Delta Hotels Riviera Nayarit, you will find a true balance between the two. The resort is nestled beneath a lush canopy of scenic mountain forest overlooking the Bahia de Banderas. This tranquil oasis is filled with winding walkways, a lazy river and delightful spa amenities.
In just 25 minutes you can arrive at the lively streets of Puerto Vallarta. The resort is perfectly situated for both adventure and serenity, surrounded by hidden gems waiting to be explored.
A serene atmosphere
Upon arrival, I immediately noticed an atmosphere of calm, carefully curated throughout the resort. Gorgeous landscaping, friendly faces and playful wildlife provided refreshing tranquillity as I was shuttled up the mountain to my accommodations. The stylish and spacious room was a sanctuary complete with superb views of the resort and its many water features. The king-size bed deserves special mention. It provided the kind of deep restorative sleep vacations are made for.
The brand new Skybar looks poised to become a hotspot for adults to socialize and enjoy some elevated cocktails and chef-curated bites. Childcare is available in the same building so parents can enjoy a little alone time in style while knowing the kids are being well taken care of.

Take to the water
The true centrepiece of the property, though, is the fabulous lazy river. It is lovely to walk past and delightful to wade in while leisurely sipping a tropical beverage. Along the way, you might catch a couple of iguanas chilling amidst the abundant plant life on property. The sounds of the jungle add an enchanting layer to the experience.
For ocean swimming, the beach club is a short 10-minute shuttle ride away. It offers lounge chairs, food and drink service and lights up at night for private events. Their kitchen can produce catering for any occasion. Local live musicians are available to provide charming entertainment with the sounds of waves crashing in the background.
Local cultural experiences
I was thoroughly impressed by the passion and friendliness of the staff. Along with their commitment to supporting local artisans, businesses and cultural activities. Through a partnership with Human Connections, an organization that facilitates thoughtful travel experiences for tourists and students, hotel guests can enjoy unique cultural activities ranging from crafting, woodworking, cooking and more.
I was lucky to participate in a hands-on crafting experience with a local artisan who showcased a traditional beading technique to produce intricate ornaments. She provided a touching moment that felt rooted in local history. It stood out from the typical activities you might find at an all-inclusive resort.
The relaxing spa features intimate massage cabins that open out to the forest, a beautiful touch that left me feeling relaxed and ready for the day. Food and drink service is also available throughout the day at several inviting bars, a Teppanyaki grill, pool snack bar and a buffet.
Family fun in style
As a true family resort, there is also plenty to keep the little ones busy. From waterpark-style pools, splash pads and slides, to movie nights under the stars (complete with an adorable taco truck for snacks). During the day, you might find some guests enjoying a healing sound bath in the same garden where movies take place in the evening.
With so many delightful and memorable features, this property is a must-stay spot for those seeking sun and serenity in Mexico.
Exploring Sayulita
A convenient day trip will take you to sensational Sayulita. This beach town is bathed in sunshine and stacked with surfer types just living their best lives. Colourful as can be, it’s impossible to feel stressed out in such a warm and slow-paced town. The only thing cooler than the hippies and surfers are the frozen chocolate-dipped bananas from ChocoBanana, a famous local treat!
For such a small and walkable town, there are numerous shops, restaurants and market stands to explore. Relax on the beach and watch the surfers catch waves. Enjoy a fantastic meal with the sea breeze in your hair. Or shop for a new outfit in the many trendy clothing stores. Gorgeous boutique hotels offer ocean views, though there are more modest accommodations available nearby. There is truly something for everybody in Sayulita!
